COOKIES POLICY

JollyPads uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure our website works properly, to provide a great experience for you, and to analyze our traffic. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, and how you can manage them.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites save on your browser when you visit. They contain information that the site can read or use when you return. Cookies are widely used to remember your preferences and actions on a site. For example, a cookie might keep you logged in by remembering your session ID, or it might track which pages you visited so the site can improve your browsing experience.

There are a few types of cookies we use on JollyPads:

Essential Cookies:

These are necessary for the basic functioning of our site. Without them, you wouldn’t be able to use core features. For instance, when you log into your JollyPads account, an essential cookie keeps you logged in as you navigate pages (so you don’t have to re-login every time you click something). Essential cookies also help with security (e.g., preventing cross-site request forgery) and network management. Since our site is built on Wix, some essential Wix cookies are in place by default – for example, cookies that identify your session, recognize you as a logged-in member, and ensure our platform is secure. We also have essential cookies for things like keeping track of your shopping cart items as you shop.

Preferences Cookies:

These cookies (if used) remember your choices and settings on our site to provide a more personalized experience. For example, if our site supports multiple languages or if you adjust display settings, a cookie might save those preferences so that next time you visit, the site is configured the way you prefer. (At the moment, JollyPads is English-only and straightforward, so we use minimal preference cookies – most of our cookies are either essential or analytics.)

Analytics Cookies:

We use cookies to help us gather analytics data about site usage. Specifically, we use Google Analytics on JollyPads. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _gid, etc.) that allow it to recognize when the same user returns and to measure how users interact with our site over time. This helps us understand things like how many people visit JollyPads each day, which pages or products are most popular, and how users find our site. All data collected via analytics cookies is anonymous and aggregated – it does not include personal details like your name or email. We use this information to improve site content, layout, and performance. For example, Google Analytics reports can show us if a page is loading slowly or if users drop off at a certain step, so we know where to make improvements. (In short, Google Analytics tracks anonymous site usage and behavior for us.) These cookies are not essential to the basic operation of the site, and we only use them with your consent.

Advertising Cookies:

Good news – JollyPads does NOT use any third-party advertising or targeting cookies. We do not serve ads on our site aside from promoting our own products, and we do not use retargeting networks that track you across other sites. This means you won’t find cookies for things like Facebook Pixel or Google Ads on JollyPads at this time. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ensure such cookies are only used with proper consent.

How We Use Cookies

In summary, we use cookies to: keep you logged in, remember your cart, ensure site security, and understand how people use our site. Cookies help provide you with a smooth and safe browsing (and shopping) experience.

For example:

  • When you log in, an authentication cookie keeps you logged in until you log out or your session expires. This way, you can navigate the store, add items to your cart, and checkout without interruption.

  • When you add a game key or gift card to your shopping cart, a cookie remembers what’s in your cart. Even if you navigate away or accidentally close the page and come back, your cart will retain those items (for a certain period) thanks to the cookie.

  • We perform analytics to improve our service. Cookies tell us, in aggregate, which pages are working well and which might be confusing to users. For instance, a cookie might note that a user visited Page A then Page B, and spent X minutes there. We look at overall patterns (not individual behavior) – e.g., “X% of users who visit the FAQ page also proceed to make a purchase.” This insight lets us optimize the site.

  • Cookies also help with security measures. For example, Wix’s platform uses certain security cookies to identify malicious visitors (to protect against attacks) and to prevent fraudulent actions. These cookies are part of keeping the website safe for all users.

Cookies on Our Site (Overview)

Here’s a general overview of cookies you may encounter on JollyPads:

  • Wix Essential Cookies: As mentioned, these include cookies named like XSRF-TOKEN (security token), hs (security), svSession (session ID for user login, persistent), SSR-caching (to indicate how the site was rendered), and others that Wix uses for system performance and security. These cookies are typically set to expire after the session or a defined period (some last only until you close your browser, others may last several months to remember you).

  • JollyPads Preferences: If we set any custom preferences cookies (for example, a cookie to hide a one-time promo popup after you’ve seen it, or to remember your theme if we have light/dark mode), those would fall here. They would generally improve your experience and last for a reasonable time. (We will list any such cookies in a detailed list on our site if applicable. Right now, our use is minimal.)

  • Google Analytics Cookies: Common GA cookies you might see are _ga, _gid, and _gat. _ga typically persists for 2 years and is used to distinguish unique users (assigning a random ID that helps count you as one person, not multiple, even if you visit many times). _gid lasts 24 hours and is also used to distinguish users on a shorter session basis. _gat is used to throttle request rate (to ensure the analytics service isn’t overwhelmed) and usually lasts 1 minute. These cookies contain no personally identifiable information – they just tag your browser with an ID like “User123” for analytics counts. Google Analytics data is subject to Google’s privacy policy and we have configured it to anonymize IP addresses where applicable.

  • Cookie Consent Cookie: Ironically, when you choose your cookie settings on our banner, we have to set a cookie to remember your preferences! So, you may have a cookie that remembers whether you consented to analytics or not. This way, we don’t keep bothering you with the banner on each visit, and we ensure we honor your choice (for example, if you opted out, the site will remember not to load analytics scripts). This cookie typically doesn’t contain any unique ID beyond “yes” or “no” to certain categories.

We maintain a Cookie Table in our detailed Cookie Policy page (or below) that lists each cookie by name, what it does, and its duration.

Your Choices: Managing Cookies

Consent on First Visit:
When you first visit JollyPads, you will see a cookie consent banner. We ask for your consent to use any non-essential cookies (like analytics). If you click “Accept All,” you’re allowing us to use analytics cookies in addition to the essential ones. If you click “Reject” or a similar option, we will not load analytics or any cookies that aren’t necessary. You can also customize which cookies to allow if our banner supports category-wise consent.

Browser Settings:
Regardless of what choices you make on our site’s banner, you have full control via your web browser settings. You can manage cookies through your browser – including blocking or deleting cookies. Each browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.) has its own way to adjust cookie settings:

  • In Chrome, for example, you can go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data, to block third-party cookies or all cookies, or to see and remove specific cookies.

  • In Firefox, you can go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data, and manage stored cookies or set preferences.

  • Other browsers have similar sections in their settings; you can refer to online guides or the browser’s help documentation for exact steps.

Effect of Disabling Cookies:
If you disable all cookies, some essential functions of our site may not work. For instance, if cookies are turned off, our site might not remember that you’re logged in, so you could be logged out unexpectedly or unable to log in at all. Similarly, your cart might not persist between pages. Therefore, we advise allowing at least essential cookies for the best experience (our cookie banner usually cannot block essential cookies since they are needed). Disabling only analytics cookies will not affect the core shopping experience on JollyPads; it will simply prevent us from collecting data about your visit. You are free to opt out of analytics with no impact on purchasing or account use – we respect that choice.

Opt-Out of Google Analytics:
If you want to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites (not just ours), Google provides an Opt-Out Browser Add-on. Installing this add-on will prevent Google Analytics from running on any site that uses it. This is a broader step if you want to enhance privacy everywhere; of course, on our site, you can just decline analytics cookies and that will have a similar effect limited to JollyPads.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update our Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or legislation, or if we start using new types of cookies. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date. If the changes are significant (for example, if we started using cookies for new purposes like advertising), we may also inform you via the site or email and seek consent if required. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically for the latest information about our cookie practices.
